What is Liverpool’s track record in the Champions League?

Liverpool has won the Champions League five times. Their golden years were in the late 1970s and early 1980s, where they won four times between the years 1977 and 1984. The last time they won was in 2005.

Their absence in the last few years has been notable, however they did manage to reach the final last year, finishing as runner up to Real Madrid.

What does this mean for the 2019 Champions League final? Well we think this team might have a fire in their belly with something serious to prove to their fans and the outside world.

How have Tottenham Hotspur fared in past Champions Leagues?

Spurs don’t seem to have amazing luck when it comes to the Champions League. They’ve failed to reach the final in any previous Champions League iteration. The farthest they’ve come so far has been in 2010-2011 when they reached the quarter finals.

So this is the first time they’re at the very upper levels of the competition. But will they be able to go the extra mile and grab the title of 2019 Champions League final champs? Only time will tell…

Are Liverpool or Spurs stronger this season?

It has to be said that Liverpool have been, on balance, the stronger team this season. Spurs have the somewhat shameful honour of being the only team this season to get out of the group stages after losing their fist three matches.

Having said that, they have shaken off that shaky start and it now looks like Spurs are in a much better head space.

Liverpool have been more consistent for sure, but the 2018-19 season hasn’t been without its hiccoughs. Their surprise loss to Crvena zvezda earlier on is a sore memory for many Liverpool fans. Having said that, their spectacular win against Barcelona has proven that they do mean business.

After so many recent disappointments, we’re going to predict that Liverpool will be the 2019 Champions League final winners. But there’s a big part of our hearts that hope that Spurs can take it all the way for the very first time in their history. That would be spectacular to see.
